Continuing My Throw Pillow Quest

Recalling this pillow (which really defines the color scheme for all ensuing throw pillows),

and remembering that I then made this one to accompany it,

I would now like to get some feedback on my latest attempt. I'm trying to keep things eclectic because I'm not a huge fan of matchy-matchy. Also, I LOVE different textures, so I'm trying to use a variety in this project of making a gazillion throw pillows for our new couch.
I'm kind of buying in to ruffles lately. Thanks in no small part to Disney. So when I was checking out some throw pillows on the Pier 1 website the other day, I thought I might like to try my hand at something inspired by this one:

I wanted to stick with my color scheme, though, so I chose some green material I'd already purchased. Also, I didn't think I had enough material to do one quite like the pier1 pillow, so I did a variation. What do you guys think?

The whole time I was working on it, I kept asking my husband, "Do you like it? I don't usually go in for ruffles this much." He laughed about the fifth time I asked and reminded me that I kept asking him. So I just forged ahead. I didn't even take pics for a tutorial because I was winging it the whole way. In the end, even though I call it the granny pillow, I kind of like the result. I like that it kind of looks like a flower. I might choose a different color if I was to do it again, but I think a darker color actually helps ground the others I'm working on. So in moderation and paired with the other two I've done so far (see below), I think I'm heading in the right direction for my eclectic vision.

(Sorry the picture's so dark. I was using my phone camera.)

If you'd like a step-by-step, let me know and I'll work one up.

P.S. When I say, "What do you think?" about a project that is DONE, I really only want positive feedback.
Though if you don't like it, don't lie and say you do. But things like "That's ugly, Kelli, you should throw it away" are NOT the feedback I'm going for. My ego is far too fragile. Thanks. :)

  5. Emily - I think so. If not the next one then definitely one soon. I'm working on a brown one right now AND I have plans for some brown and green striped material, but blue is definitely in the works. I've found some great ideas I can't wait to try. :)

  6. "Granny pillow" is a great name for it. It does remind me of pillows that could be found in just about every grandma's house in the 1970s on until somebody finally convinced them to redecorate around 1999. :) It is not my style, but it works. And you are much more quirky than I am. :)
