Dresden Plate Bag?

Meg over at Boutique NutMeg Designs just blogged about winning this giveaway which is why I discovered THIS bag:

I love it! Something like this is the perfect solution to getting my feet wet before tackling an entire Dresden Plate Quilt. It's possible that I'll rush home and get started. Unlikely, but possible.

  1. HA! I was reading all my craft blogs in my google reader, and I saw this post and the picture on it, and I was like, "Hey, Kelli would love that! She loves those dresden plate things!" ^_^

  2. I think I did that with one of your domestic goddess posts once. Ah, I love you.

  3. I wouldn't even attempt the bag. I am thinking about making a quilt for my bed though. Something green and blue, with maybe some purple. Though I don't know what I will do, since I don't really have any fabric and am too cheap to spend money on fabric. Plus, I want to make a quilt for Abigail's bed someday. And then Bryant's, I'm sure, though I've never even made one. LOL.

  4. I'm just getting into quilting, and I LOVE it. I'll be posting some pics of one I'm currently working on in the next few days. Fabric is actually not TOO pricey. It's almost always on sale at Hobby Lobby and Hancock Fabrics, and you could get a decent pattern that used maybe $15 or $20 worth of fabric plus a sheet or something for backing. It's paying someone to quilt it that racks up the dough. My MIL introduced me to a strippy quilt, though, which you quilt as you piece, so it's cheaper AND quicker. I just made one in an evening for my nephew. It could be just what you're looking for for your chillins. I'll try to make one soon and post a tute, cause for my life I can't find one online.

  5. Kelli -

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your sweet comment. Those washer necklaces don't take too long so don't be scared off by them!! ha.ha. The longest part is waiting for them to dry (which takes a day or two) but getting them made only takes an hour! You can do it! I know you can!!
