I'm a little bit obsessed with cupcakes lately. Just ask my pinterest board. It's one of those daydream obsessions that rarely comes to fruition, though. The last time I used any of my cake decorating skills, it was for Lincoln's birthday cake. So mostly I just look at cool ideas online, but I have picked up a book or two as well (I find the ones that use candy to make the decorations particularly clever). So imagine my chagrin when I brought home with one of my "new" books, started looking through it, and realized I'd purchased the same book I'd bought the last time I splurged on one but with a different cover! Well, my lack of attention is your gain. For lack of anything more innovative to do with my surplus, I've decided to spread the joy and give it away! Just one way to enter: leave a comment with either a description or a link to a picture of a clever cake/cupcake decorating idea you've seen.
The book is Fun Stuff Cupcakes, and it has a host of fun ideas for decorating cupcakes as dinosaurs, lambs, pigs, etc, as well as some fun cake mix variations.
The book I'll be sending the winner features these fun bunnies on the cover, but I've compared the inside, and there's no difference. All in all, a fun book I'm excited to share with one of you!
Remember, to win just leave a comment with either a description or a link to a picture of a clever cake/cupcake decorating idea you've seen. I'll close the giveaway in one week, on July 13 at midnight CDT.

And I'm sorry for the shortage of posts lately. We're trying to get the house ready for the new addition, and it's taking pretty much all my extra energy these days. Hopefully I'll be back to a more ambitious crafting schedule in a few months.
I could go for a cupcake book, especially if it has cake mix recipes in it. :) Here's a link to the cake my mom made for Kari's son, Simon's first birthday. The party had a Dr. Suess theme, so this cake was perfect! http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_RfM5QYGkHH0/S1LJfHgVCII/AAAAAAAAA1Y/nTzHHyeN7_M/s1600-h/240.JPG

ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE cupcakes! My current favorite thing to do is cupcake ice cream cones. You pour batter right into ice cream cones and bake them in the oven as normal. Then I frost them using my Pampered Chef Easy Accent Decorator to make it look like ice cream and then usually add some sprinkles. So cute and perfect for summer parties!
ReplyDeleteI love cupcakes too! :)
ReplyDeleteYou've already pinned this, but it is definitely my inspiration!

I thought this was cute and clever :) @http://www.kitchenroundtable.com/forum/cookbook.pl?md=read;id=93294
ReplyDeleteI like it when cupcakes are put together to make something, like a rainbow. I don't like it when they are iced together, though. They should all be iced separately!
ReplyDeleteCocktail Cupcakes! How cool is this! Check it out http://hoosierhomemade.com/cocktail-cupcakes-cupcake-tuesday/
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've never even heard of "Pinterest Board." I'll definitely have to create one. Thanks for sharing.
